Download antiX Linux for Old PCs – Lightweight Linux ISO Guide

Install antiX Linux: Lightweight OS for Low-End Hardware

 Step 1: Go to the antiX Linux Website

Open your browser and visit: https://antixlinux.com/about/

Hover over the Download menu at the top.

Click on ISO Download from the dropdown list.

Step 2: Download antiX ISO (64-bit Full Version)

Scroll down the page to the sysVinit versions section.

Click on:
“Click to download antiX-23.2-Full 64bit”

The ISO file (~1.8 GB) will begin downloading.

Step 3: Create a New Virtual Machine in VirtualBox

Open VirtualBox on your system.

Click on the “New” button (highlighted with a gear icon).

This will start the wizard to create a new virtual machine for installing antiX Linux.

Step 4: Configure antiX Linux Virtual Machine

In the “Create Virtual Machine” wizard:

Name your VM (e.g., antix)

Select a folder to store the VM files

Choose your ISO image:

Set Type to Linux

Choose Version as Other Linux (64-bit)

Expand sections to adjust RAM, CPU, and disk if needed.

Click Finish to create the virtual machine.

 Step 5: Boot antiX Linux in VirtualBox

After starting the virtual machine, you’ll see the antiX boot menu.

Select "Switch to GRUB Bootloader" using arrow keys and press Enter.

Step 6: Boot into Live antiX Environment

On the GRUB screen, select: antiX-23.2 x64-full (5 October 2024)

Press Enter to boot into the live session.

 Step 7: Launch the antiX Installer

Once the desktop loads

Now the installation is done — enjoy antiX OS on your old system!
